Cade Oil

Juniperus oxycedrus, vernacularly called Cade, cade juniper, prickly juniper, prickly cedar, or sharp cedar, is a species of juniper. Cade is a plant. The leaf, berries, stem, and oil extracted from the wood are used for medicine. The oil is also commonly used as a fragrance in perfumes, skin creams, and other products. Cade oil is the essential oil obtained through destructive distillation of the wood of this shrub. It is a dark, aromatic oil with a strong smoky smell which is used in some cosmetics and (traditional) skin treatment drugs, as well as incense. It is also used as a germ-killer in wound dressings. In manufacturing, cade oil is an ingredient in skin creams and ointments, and in anti-dandruff shampoos .
